The story is as follows as reported by Loop news.
The Clarendon police are investigating a reported suicide involving a 12-year-old girl in the parish on Thursday.
Reports are that the body of the child was found hanging from a tree in her yard.
The incident occurred in the Belle Plain community near Four Paths in the parish.
The full details of the incident remain somewhat unclear, but reports from sources are that the child was asked by her parent to complete some chores at home.
What reportedly led to her subsequent action has left residents in the community and wider parish with unanswered questions, and some in shock
The Corporate Communication Unit of the police force has confirmed the incident.
The child’s mother had to be rushed to hospital after seeing her daughter dangling from the tree.
There are indications that the child may have had challenges relating to the separation of her parents some time ago.

This is such a sad story. She's so young and her life is over just like that. There are really so many unanswered questions. Was it that she was severely depressed due to her parents separating? Is it possible she was going through some other trials?
We have to think also that maybe this was just her way of acting out or rebelling. A lot of these children these days feel like parents should not speak to them or punish them or ask them to do chores. They want to have things easy and just spend their days doing nothing. And they take it from 0 to 100 just like that. Instantly and sometimes over nothing at all. Everything is so severe and dramatic to them.
Well whatever the case may be, I pray the mother gets some help and support. Parents should never have to bury their kids. It should be the other way around. I can't imagine going through this and coming out the other side. If it was an accident like a car crash or something it would be horrible but easier to deal with I think. There are a lot of people young and old out there struggling and suffering in silence who believe there is no other choice. And oftentimes they think that the people who they leave behind will be better off without them. This reminds me of the show 13 reasons why on Netflix which is about a young girl who takes her life but before she does she sends audio tapes to each person who ever hurt her detailing all she went through.
Let's try to all be more aware. Mental illness is real. Depression is real. Look out for cry's of help and do not ignore them. Let's sit down and talk with our loved ones. We never know the crisis we might be averting by just being a listening ear.
